Romanian Community Center Chicago (
ROCO)
To Whom It May Concern;
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to propose a collaboration between the Romanian Community Center Chicago and poet Adela Sinclair (birth name Adela Păcurar) for her forthcoming collection, The Butcher’s Granddaughter.
Adela Sinclair’s poetry collection weaves together themes of resilience, identity, and the complexities of family history through lyrical prose poetry. Inspired by the evocative words of Jeanette Winterson, the book explores the legacy of a butcher’s lineage and the immigrant journey that brought Sinclair’s family from Romania to New York in 1987. Through vivid imagery and tender reflection, Sinclair examines the fragility and strength of human connections, paying homage to the sacrifices and triumphs of generations past while grappling with the echoes of memory and heritage.
Given ROCO’s dedication to preserving and celebrating Romanian culture in Chicago, we believe Mrs. Sinclair’s work would resonate deeply with your community members. Her exploration of immigrant experiences and Romanian heritage creates a perfect opportunity to engage your audience with authentic cultural storytelling that bridges generations.
We would like to propose the following potential collaborations:
Poetry Reading: Organizing a reading where Ms. Sinclair could share selected poems from her collection, followed by a discussion about the themes of Romanian heritage, immigration, and cultural identity.
Author Interview: Conducting an in-depth interview with Ms. Sinclair about her creative process, the inspirations behind her work, and her personal connection to Romanian culture.
We are flexible with dates and would be happy to work with your programming schedule. Ms. Sinclair is available for both virtual events and in-person appearances, depending on your preference and current programming format.
I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this collaboration further. Please feel free to contact me at
[email protected] or 347.268.0946 to explore how we might bring this meaningful literary work to your Chicago community.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
