Join us for a special youth event organized in collaboration with Romanian Roots Youth Association!

About the event
Some of the most important conversations and impressions happen around a table.
Whether at a formal dinner, a community event, a school function, a networking opportunity, or a future professional setting, knowing how to carry yourself with confidence and ease can make a lasting difference.
This special event is designed for teens and parents who want to better understand the basics of table setting, dining etiquette, and respectful social interaction, while also building confidence in the way they present themselves and connect with others.
Through a practical and engaging presentation, participants will explore how table manners, posture, conversation, and self-awareness all contribute to the way we are perceived. The session will also touch on broader aspects of personal presence, including first impressions, communication, and representing yourself with confidence in both social and professional environments.
This is not about rigid rules or formality for the sake of appearance. It is about learning how to feel prepared, polished, and comfortable in important moments.
About the Speaker
Ileana Zamfir is a retired colonel and a specialist in protocol, etiquette, and public image.
Her professional path was shaped in an institutional environment where rigor, discipline, and adherence to protocol were not optional, but professional standards upheld every day. This experience helped cultivate a strong culture of professionalism in which elegance is understood as a form of discipline.
Her responsibilities included protocol, logistics, and institutional representation, in a context where conduct, presence, and attention to detail played an essential role.
Her retirement, after nearly thirty years in an institutional environment where rigor, discipline, and respect for protocol were part of daily professional standards, marked the beginning of a new stage of growth and refinement. Ileana Zamfir dedicated herself to continued training in the field of etiquette and protocol, transforming her accumulated experience into a structured framework that is applicable both to today’s professional environment and to social etiquette and relationships.
Today, her work is focused on applied professional etiquette, conduct, and presence — dimensions which, in her view, are direct extensions of leadership and professional credibility.
Through her courses and public engagements, she promotes the idea that the way we present ourselves, communicate, and represent our personal values influences how we are perceived both in professional settings and in the community.

Why this event matters
Good etiquette is about much more than knowing which fork to use.
It reflects self-respect, awareness of others, and the ability to navigate different environments with confidence. For teens, these skills can be valuable in school events, cultural gatherings, leadership opportunities, interviews, formal dinners, and future academic or professional settings.
This event offers a supportive space to learn practical skills, ask questions, and better understand how small details in behavior and communication can leave a strong and positive impression.
