About Armand Mastacaneanu
Armand Mastăcăneanu is the owner of Amavi Vinum, a U.S.-based importer of premium Romanian wines. He works closely with leading Romanian wineries to introduce terroir-driven selections to the American market through guided tastings and education.
Crama Caii de la Letea
Caii de la Letea wines are born in Dobrogea’s oldest vineyard, near the hills of Sarica and Niculițel, a region where grapevine cultivation has thrived for millennia.
The winery preserves time-honored traditions, from careful grape selection to classic cellar practices rooted in ancient winemaking, while integrating modern winemaking technologies. These are expertly applied by internationally renowned oenologists, ensuring precision, balance, and consistency.
The result is a distinctive expression of terroir that highlights the unique character of the Sarica–Niculițel region, blending history, craftsmanship, and contemporary excellence in every bottle.
Crama DeMatei
Crama DeMatei is the expression of a distinctive terroir spanning over 70 hectares, surrounding the Tegăneanu and Zorilor hills, where noble old vines have been cultivated for more than 40 years.
This is a terroir that demands respect, craftsmanship, and precision to reveal its full character—qualities reflected in wines with remarkable structure and aging potential, consistently proven by each vintage of Prince Matei since 1998.
At the heart of the winery are the skilled hands that tend the vines and carefully select every bunch, guided by a deep understanding of the land. Tradition remains essential, but it is thoughtfully complemented by state-of-the-art winemaking technology, introduced through recent investments to enhance precision and consistency.
From the balance between man, nature, and modern technology, the wines of Domeniile Prince Matei are born elegant, and built to endure.
