Meet Our Speakers


Andreea Raicu, MD

Dr. Andreea Raicu, a dedicated breast oncology surgeon, began her academic journey at the University of Illinois, majoring in Biology and Spanish. She pursued her medical studies at the University of Chicago, followed by a residency in General Surgery at UIC. Dr. Raicu further specialized in Breast Oncologic Surgery during a fellowship at the University of California in Los Angeles. Currently serving as a surgeon at UChicago Advent Health in Hinsdale, Dr. Raicu is deeply passionate about women's health and its societal impact, both at the individual family level and across society. Her long-standing desire to organize an event dedicated to women's health is now realized with the support of ROCO.

 

Dorina Scaunas, MD

   

Dr. Dorina S. Scaunas is a distinguished Obstetrician and Gynecologist currently serving as an OB Hospitalist at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. With a career spanning over two decades, she has dedicated herself to the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology, aiming for excellence in patient care and education across both academic and private sectors. Dr. Scaunas holds a notable background in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, contributing extensively to women's health through her roles at Women's Health Specialists and Associate Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Scaunas's educational journey began with a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she graduated with honors and was a member of prestigious honor societies. She earned her MD from the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine and completed her postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. A dedicated researcher, she has co-authored studies on oxytocin receptors and the efficacy of cephalosporins in Cesarean sections.

Apart from her medical career, Dr. Scaunas is fluent in Romanian and has a rich musical background as a pianist and former choir director, showcasing her versatility and commitment to community engagement.

 

Monica Moigradan, MD

   

Dr. Monica Moigradan completed her medical studies in Timișoara, Romania. She specialized in Internal Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University. For over 15 years, Dr. Moigradan has been serving at Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Affairs Hospital, where she brings her extensive expertise and compassionate care to her patients. Her dedication to the field of internal medicine reflects her commitment to improving patient health and wellbeing.

 

Daniela Moise, DPT

 Dr. Daniela Moise's professional journey began with her graduation from the University of Medicine in Bucharest, Romania, in 1999. She later pursued advanced education, earning a Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Stony Brook School of Medicine in New York in 2010, graduating with honors. Alongside her academic achievements, Dr. Moise is a distinguished member of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Alumni at City Colleges of Chicago, as well as an awarded member of The International Healthcare Providers Association and the American Physical Therapy Association.As a certified pelvic floor rehabilitation specialist, Dr. Moise teaches and treats individuals, empowering both men and women with pelvic health issues such as pelvic pain, incontinence, fertility, postpartum issues, and aging. Additionally, she is deeply passionate about the performing arts and has contributed her expertise as part of the treatment team for Broadway shows like "Wicked" and "Riverdance" from Ireland. Dr. Daniela Moise is married and has a 13-year-old son. Together, they share a passion for traveling, arts, and music.

 

Mihaela Campion, MA, LCPC 

 

Mihaela Campion brings over twenty years of experience in the field as the founder of Psychotherapy and Transformational Movement. With a Master’s in Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, she specializes in counseling and embraces the richness of cultural diversity. A certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, Mihaela integrates Dr. Brené Brown’s research on vulnerability and shame into her practice. Her approach to couple’s therapy includes Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, emphasizing deep emotional connections.

Beyond conventional therapy, Mihaela explores the therapeutic power of movement, using methods like Nia and Body-Mind Psychotherapy to facilitate emotional healing. She is the founder  actively involved in volunteering, notably with Erasing the Distance and the Marjorie Kovler Center, leveraging the arts and psychotherapy to support mental health and survivors of torture.

In her free time, Mihaela is passionate about dance, music, community engagement, and women’s rights activism, embodying her belief in the healing power of movement and the importance of emotional expression.

 

Ana Sophia Lupu, Life Coach

   

Ana Sophia Lupu is a life coach specializing in empowering busy professional moms to overcome stress and anxiety. With a Bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a background as an executive assistant in the corporate world, she offers a unique blend of academic expertise and real-world experience.Additionally, she is an entrepreneur currently launching her second business while juggling the responsibilities of caring for an aging mother and raising two children. Her approach integrates evidence-based psychological techniques with practical strategies, aiming for lasting peace and balance in her clients' lives. Outside of her coaching practice, she is deeply committed to volunteering and nonprofit work, which enriches her understanding of the challenges women face and informs her empathetic coaching style. Through holistic support and unwavering guidance, she helps her clients unlock their full potential, cultivate resilience, and embrace fulfilling lives.
