Event Rules and Regulations


By attending the event, guests agree to adhere to these rules and regulations. The event organizers reserve the right to remove individuals who violate these guidelines or otherwise disrupt the event. Compliance with these rules ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

  1. Capacity and Admission:

    • The maximum capacity of the venue is 100 persons. This limit is strictly enforced to comply with safety regulations. Entry will be on a first-come, first-served basis until the capacity is reached.
  2. Event Timing:

    • Events can be scheduled during the day and up to midnight. Events extending beyond the stipulated time require prior approval and appropriate supervision arrangements.
  3. Smoking Policy:

    • Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the venue. Designated smoking areas are available outside the building. Please use the provided receptacles for disposing of cigarette butts.
  4. Noise Control:

    • To respect our neighbors, noise levels should be minimal, especially after 10:00 PM. This includes the volume of music, entertainment, and general crowd noise.
    • Use of sound-amplifying equipment is allowed but must be kept at a reasonable volume and should comply with local noise regulations.
  5. Behavior and Conduct:

    • Guests are expected to maintain a respectful and courteous demeanor at all times. Disorderly behavior, including but not limited to fighting, harassment, or offensive language, will not be tolerated.
    • The event organizer is responsible for the behavior of their guests. Any individual acting in a manner that disrupts the event or poses a safety risk may be asked to leave the premises.
  6. Alcohol Consumption:

    • If alcohol is served, it must be done so responsibly. The event organizer must ensure that underage drinking does not occur and that guests do not become inebriated to the point of disorderliness or health risk.
  7. Property Damage:

    • Attendees are responsible for any damage they cause to the venue's property. Event organizers may be held financially responsible for any repairs or cleaning necessary due to damage or excessive mess resulting from their event.
  8. Compliance with Laws:

    • All events must comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including health and safety codes, licensing, and fire safety requirements.
  9. Cancellation Policy:

    • Any cancellations must be made in writing and received by the venue management at least 7 days before the event. Failure to comply with this policy may result in a cancellation fee or forfeiture of the deposit.
  10. Emergency Procedures:

    • Familiarize yourself with the venue's emergency exits and evacuation procedures. In an emergency, remain calm and follow the event staff's or emergency personnel's instructions.

 

Safe Space: Additional Rules and Regulations for Events

To ensure the well-being and enjoyment of everyone, we have established the following rules and regulations concerning behavior at events hosted at our facilities. These rules apply to all attendees, staff, volunteers, and participants.

  • Any language or behavior that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic is strictly prohibited.

  • Engaging in harassment or bullying, whether verbal, physical, or through other means, is not tolerated. This includes any repeated or severe behavior that intimidates, demeans, or humiliates an individual or group.

3. Discrimination

  • Discriminatory behavior or remarks, whether based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other legally protected characteristic, are strictly prohibited.

4. Sexual Harassment and Misconduct

  • Sexual harassment, including unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature, will not be tolerated.

5. Confidentiality Breaches

  • Unauthorized disclosure of proprietary, sensitive, or confidential information about individuals, companies, or organizations associated with ROCO Chicago is strictly prohibited.

6. Misrepresentation or Fraud

  • Deliberately providing false, misleading, or inaccurate information for personal gain or to harm others is not permitted.

7. Intellectual Property Infringement

  • Respect for intellectual property rights is paramount. Unauthorized use, distribution, or reproduction of copyrighted, patented, or trademarked materials is prohibited.

8. Cyberbullying and Online Abuse

  • Using digital platforms to intimidate, harass, or harm individuals, whether associated with an event or not, is unacceptable.

9. Defamation

  • Spreading false statements about a person or entity that injures their reputation is strictly forbidden.

 

Consequences


Failure to adhere to these rules and regulations may result in immediate removal from the event and the premises and may lead to a ban from future events at ROCO Chicago Community Center. Depending on the severity of the offense, legal action may be taken.

Reporting Violations


If you witness or are subjected to any form of untolerated behavior, please report it immediately to designated event staff or center management. We are committed to addressing all reports with the utmost seriousness and confidentiality.

While we provide a space for events and activities, the conduct and management of the event are the sole responsibility of the event organizers. The venue does not endorse any behavior that violates the rules and regulations stated above or any local, state, or federal laws.
